The 137th edition of the international Labour Day has been celebrated across Cameroon yesterday May 1 2023.

Commemorative activities to mark the day held under the theme, « Resilience and Decent Work to Improve Living Conditions and Social Cohesion »

In Fako Division of the South West Region, workers converged on the Manga Williams avenue in Limbe, to celebrate the day.

As workers in Cameroon joint their counterparts around the world yesterday in commemoration of the International Labour Day, it was an opportunity for workers and employers who are the principal actors in the employment relationship to reflect on their rights and obligations and reiterate their commitment to ensuring a healthy and decent working environment.

Commemorative activities however took place within a peculiar context in the South West and North West regions of Cameroon that have suffered heavily from the sociopolitical upheavals as well as other the covid-19 pandemic and cholera epidemic.
