The mortal remains of two persons feared to be separatist fighters killed in Ekona, Muyuka subdivision of the South West Region of Cameroon have been displayed today Wednesday March 15 2023 in Muea.
The suspects were reportedly shot at close range by a faction of the Cameroon military led by Chief Eko John Ewume fondly referred to as Chief Moja Moja , who is the traditional ruler of Bwassa Village, located on the outskirts of Buea.
The killing of the young men whose identities are yet to be officially ascertained is coming off the hills of sustained gun battles between non state armed forces and the military nearly 72hrs ago.
The incident is believed to have thrown a spanner on the course for the return of calm in Muea, an area which has arguably remained a red zone since the genesis of the anglophone crisis which is now six years old.
Moja Moja was only recently pictured in a video footage whose location still remains unknown, declaring war against the separatists. His activities though many say abrogates the Cameroon law on several occasions have however enjoyed impunity pushing many to believe he’s being supported by authorities.
