Buea : journalists pay tribute to Martinez Zogo

Journalists in Buea and other areas in the South West Region have observed at least one day of mourning by dressing in black to salute the memory Martinez Zogo a Yaounde based whistle blower who was brutally battered to death by yet to be identified men.

The men of the press were all dressed in black yesterday like their counterparts the country over to frown at what they term « shameless show and disregard of the gatekeepers »

This January 25 has gone down into the anals of history as a remarkable one as many of them dedicated at least a minute of silence to a fallen hero whose only crime was to blow the whistle at a time when the country is crying for her resources while selfish and stingy administrive bottle necks suck her dry of her finances.

They equally called on the government to shed light with immediate effect on the circumstances leading to the disappearance and sudden death of Martinez Zogo, Samuel Wazizi and many others. While pressing for that, they equally demand the immediate and unconditional release of journalists incarcerated in deplorable detention facilities around the country.
