A form one student of the Baptist High School in Buea is confirmed to have died after he was swept away by very strong running water resulting from heavy downpours recorded Sunday April 16 2023.
The young student whose name we got as Nathaniel Eyole Mojimbo is said to have been playing football in the rain with his friends in school when he was carried away by the runoff when their ball fell inside the running water in the gutter and he attempted to retrieve the ball.
After the unfortunate incident, a search for the boy was launched but unfortunately the boy was found dead as the runoff had dumped his body along the gutters in town.
His body has been conveyed to the Buea regional hospital mortuary pending burial.
